Transformation

Metamorphosis, Shift, Revolution, Conversion…

A chrysalis that protects and shelters while nature awaits new birth.

Uncertainty hovers over the observer of this process,

How long will it take?

Will it fail or fly?

The shedding of the past in hope for future,

filled with freedom, flight, color, beauty, transformation.

Movement, trusting in the process and vision.

Bursting forth!

First breath,

Exhilarating, unknown joy,

arriving and transfigured…….

Camping with God

Wind, creating a dance high in the tree.

Dancing in rhythm with the ripples on the lake.

A chorus of cicadas, birds, dragonfly wings telling stories of sunrise and a new day,

And sunsets and rest.

There is a time for everything…

Lord teach me the dance,

Show me the rhythm of Life,

So my life will bring ripples that offer You praise.

Let the song You give pour forth in Praise,

and tell the story of Love and Grace,

of newness.

Thank You Jesus for Your rest, healing, and a time for gentleness.

Like a deer pants for water,

My soul longs for You.

“My daughter, I delight in your love of My creation.

I have given it to you for your pleasure.

You have wrestled with Me,

and will carry the scar all of your days.

I will turn your mourning into dancing,

So that others will see the work of My hands.

You too are my creation,

I am making something new,

It has sprung forth!

Do you not see it?

Springs in the wilderness,

Water in the wastelands.

Walk with Me,

Sing with Me,

Enjoy My Presence.

I AM.

I Am in the wind.

I Am in the tree.

I Am in the song of the bird.

I Am in the water.

I Am in the sunrise and sunset.

I Am in the light and the dark,

the stars and the clouds.

You know Me very well.”

Letting Go

Open palms,

seeing dimly and taking a step into darkness.

Letting go of invisibility

And listening to the flow of Spirit,

And my voice.

Letting go of religion,

To sit at the feet of Life,

And my desires.

Letting go of fear

To allow the Present as a Teacher.

Letting go of judgement

And jumping into the depths of Love.

Open palms,

Seeing dimly and taking a step into darkness.

I Am From

Midwest, republican, farmhouse.

Oldest sister with her siblings lined in a row behind,

All singing old hymns,

Few with the same mother and father.

Playing kick the can after dark,

Buying ice and cigarettes at the Kwik Shop,

snapping beans and planting potatoes.

Sitting on the porch,

amazed at the stars and my Creator.

Following all the rules,

Being a good girl,

Unlike the night crawlers that consumed the backyard

in their mating rituals.

Pastor’s daughter who was doomed to hell,

as grace slipped through her fingers.

Grace was the face of grandma and grandad,

playing cards, eating candy and the smell of powder on her bosom.

Nature Lessons

Standing and reaching,

Immovable and chosen for this space,

Life unfolds and witnessed

Received by these wise arms.

Songs telling of Love are sung

When light appears

Joy of a new day,

Opportunities

Freedom felt in flight.

Brown and dead

Giver of life

Air for creation

Birthing green and color

Season of growth

Maker of all

Providing a new season

Different than the past,

Flowing law of nature

Change,

Healing.

I am a tree

Psalm 1:3-“And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of living water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither…”

I am a tree

I am firmly planted by streams of living water

I stand tall

My roots are hidden, however they go deep

I am strong

I am supported

I am fed

I am able to withstand storms

I am a tree

I am firmly planted by streams of living water

I am refreshed after a drought

My leaves are supple, green.

Day after day, month after month, year after year I grow.

I am pruned, deadness falls

I am wise

I stand tall

I give gifts to the creatures of the earth

Fruit to those who are hungry

A home to birds and others who need shelter

Shade to the earth and to people who need peace and calm

I am a tree

I am firmly planted by streams of living water

I stand tall.
